Note: this is an illustrative concept piece, not a completed booking for a named venue. It shows the kind of activation Magic and Villains can plan and staff.
A summer resort wants its poolside deck to feel like an event, not just a place to swim. The brief: a recurring afternoon "mermaid hour" that gives guests a photo moment, a bit of theater, and a reason to linger at the bar. The tone we aimed for is playful and a little mysterious — glamorous costuming, confident presence, zero cheese.
We proposed a single costumed mermaid performer stationed on a poolside daybed and in shallow water for two 45-minute sets per day, with a wardrobe built around a custom tail and a coordinating cover-up for walking sets between water appearances. Staffing, wardrobe care, and on-site chaperoning would be handled end-to-end by our team, with the resort only responsible for the physical space and a changing area.
