This policy explains what personal information Magic and Villains ("we", "us") collects through magicandvillains.com, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have, including under California law.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you send a contact message, a booking request, or a quote request, we collect what you enter, which can include:
- your name, email address, and phone number;
- event details such as the date, start time, location, and the characters, menus, acts, or services you choose;
- any notes or special requests you include.
Information collected automatically. When you submit a form we record your IP address with it, to help prevent spam and abuse. Like most websites, our server also keeps standard logs of requests (such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time).
Cookies
We use only the essential cookies and browser storage needed for the site to work, including remembering your choice in our cookie notice. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or social media tracking cookies. If we add optional cookies in the future, we will only use them if you click "Accept" in the cookie notice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How we use your information
- to respond to your messages and requests and to prepare quotes;
- to plan, confirm, and provide the services you book;
- to keep records of requests and bookings;
- to protect the site against spam, fraud, and abuse.
We do not use your information for advertising.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, for those purposes:
- our web hosting provider, which stores the site and the requests you submit;
- our email delivery provider, which sends us a copy of each request so we can respond;
- Google Fonts, which provides the site's fonts; your browser contacts Google to load them, which shares your IP address with Google.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions as long as needed to respond, provide our services, and maintain our business records, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below).
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use and share it;
- request a copy of your personal information;
- request that we correct or delete it;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share it);
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out and decline optional cookies for you automatically. Our site does not respond differently to "Do Not Track" browser signals, but because we do not track you across websites, there is no tracking for those signals to turn off.
Children
Our site is meant for adults planning events. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above.
